JUNIOR SUCCESSNEWARK JUNIOR SECTIONS ROUND OFF THE YEAR IN GREAT STYLE
It’s been a successful couple of weeks for the young stars of Newark HC.
Camilla Johnson was awarded the title of junior volunteer of the year, at the recent Newark & Sherwood sports awards, due to all the time she has put in, coaching, umpiring & general club duties.
More success followed, when Fergie’s babes (That’s not Sir Alex by the way), the Otters & Beavers girls U/13 team won the junior team of the year, after once again claiming the title of Nottinghamshire champions & were narrowly beaten in the Midlands finals by Belper.
This year we have witnessed the formation of an U/15 girls team, who represent Newark in the U/15 Notts league.
The team started their campaign with a 2 – 0 defeat at the hands of Beeson Bees. Unfortunately Newark played the first half with only 8 players, due to extraordinary traffic congestion in the city. Beeston were 2 – 0 up at the break but with a full team, Newark were unlucky not to get something from the game in the second half.
Newark’s second game was an 11 – 0 thrashing of Ashfield Aztecs, with 5 goals from Emma Sanders, 4 from Megan Rose Beard & 2 from Jenny Ritson.

FIRST DEVELOPMENT MATCH FOR NEWARKS NEW ACADEMY
Sunday 12TH October proved to be an exciting day for members of the newly formed academy.
A mixture of U/16 boys & girls travelled to Highfields, Nottingham to play in their first development fixture against a strong Players H.C. U/16 boy’s team.
The game was split into four, twenty minute periods, of which Newark dominated all four, conceding only one goal, but scoring ten.
There were some pretty impressive Newark performances all over the pitch, but two girls to watch in the future were; Orla Bamford & Lucy Doncaster, both a mere 12 years old, but caused the home team all sorts of problems with skill speed & strong tackling.
Many thanks to team coach Camilla Johnson for a good job well done & to all supportive parents.

The venue is NEWARK HIGH SCHOOL (same as last season)
Registration will be held at 8:45am prompt.
Please ensure appropriate clothing is worn to suit weather conditions. Correct footwear must be worn, shin guards & mouth guards are compulsory
